When a gift is given to a man (the recipient) by God (giver), man becomes the custodian of that gift. It's not God's responsibility to maintain the status of the gift. When the gift or blessing is not nurtured, cherished and/or directed rightly and given the right environment to thrive, it has a tendency of losing its intended purpose and could become a curse to its recipient.
