There's another choice that we have in life. That's a life's companion. A young man or a young woman, stepping out on life has a--has been given a right to make a choice. The young man chooses, the young woman has a right to accept or reject it, but it's still a choice on both sides; both man and woman, they have a right to choice.
The reason you have so many scruples in the marriage, is because you go out and see some girl with pretty brown eyes, or blue eyes, or something like that, some pretty figure, and you fall for her. First time she has her first baby them teeth comes out, and she gets wrinkled and old, and then you want to kick her out.
Here's a woman standing here. I'm a young man, waiting to get married. She meets my specifications in every way. She's a lovely Christian: she looks like one, she acts like one, she lives like one. I'll admit she'd make me a good wife. But she isn't mine till I take her for mine.
A man in his right mind, that's planning a future, that he should choose that wife very careful. Be careful what you're doing. And a woman choosing a husband, or accepting the choice of a husband, should be real careful what she's doing, and especially in these days. A man should think and pray before he chooses a wife.
The devils tremble when the weakest of saints goes to their knees. What a power and a privilege has been given to the Church of the living God. When you fall to your knees in prayer even the devils tremble, to the weakest of them. Think of it.
Read the Bible every day. Pray every day. Don't make any decisions too harshly or too quickly, without first considering God about it. Ask Him, 'Shall I do this, Father?' Ask Him, 'Is it Your will for me to do this?' Then see what the Holy Spirit will speak to you. He might not give you a vision, but He will speak in some way to you, to let you know, if you'll be sincere and ask Him.
