A season of reflection and gratefulness for life in its various forms, trials, and triumphs. To me, the season of Thanksgiving is the perfect and logical precursor to the season of Christmas — of thankfulness and gratitude for the love of a Holy God that took the human form of a baby in a manger.
Demonized just because you are sad about your loss. It is human to feel sadness when somebody dies. Too often some well-meaning person tries to comfort those who have lost a mate or loved one, and he or she says, 'Well, Jesus knows what's going on. You're really blessed to know they are in heaven.' While their words may be true, at that moment of grief you don't feel blessed. It takes time to work through loss.
Ultimately Satan wants nothing more than to hinder God's work on Earth through the church. Obviously, the enemy will throw up every roadblock he can to stop believers from pursuing the will of God. The apostle Paul faced these roadblocks, as he explained in one of his letters.
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect.... He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
Like David, you are called and anointed, but where will you land? Who will help you move from the place of a misfit to the seat of a monarch in your spiritual life? God has a plan for you, but it may look strange at first. God is getting you ready to move from a cave to coronation and conquest!
While we do not live under the Law of Moses insofar as the sacrificial system as a means of our salvation or right standing with God, we do observe the law as a divine standard. The law points out our shortcomings and our need for a Savior.
There at Eden it would seem that these cherubim are hostile to humans in that they guard the way, or block access to, the tree of life. On the contrary, they are exhibiting grace, for if Adam were to eat from that tree, he would have been cursed to live in an aging body forever. It was grace that set the cherubim there for us.
