On this New Year's Day, let’s thank the Lord for everything he has brought us through — for every blessing, every answered prayer, every demonstration of his love and faithfulness! And let’s call on his name, casting all of our cares upon him and looking forward with great expectation to all that is in store as we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus throughout the year!
In these first few days of the new year, I'm sure we all have many needs — in the areas of finances, employment, family situations, and more. But our greatest need as Christians, whether we realize it or not, is more of the Holy Spirit in our lives, so that we can be stronger in the Lord; have more patience; have guidance from God.
People pray, heaven opens, God sends empowerment from the Holy Spirit. And what is the result? A church is revived, a couple’s life is changed, a man or woman gets a call to the work God has prepared for them to do. Why not? God’s promise is that he will take us from glory to more glory; from faith to more faith; from strength to more strength. Nowhere in the Bible do you see that God’s plan is for us to decline. No! He wants us to be stronger and stronger every day.
God is not dead; he really does communicate today. He's interested in every part of your life, your home, your finances, every kind of decision - and more than just the moral issues. His eye is always on you. He wants to lead you. But you have to believe that he will indeed speak to you when you wait before him in believing prayer, with a yielded heart to do his will.
