People believe a lot more of what they see you do than what they hear you do. That's why it is important that we take the responsibility to set a good, Biblical example. How we live in front of people and even behind closed doors at home is essential to being an effective witness.
Although today is usually full of celebration, we know for some of you it can be a difficult time.
As a parent, your part is to pray for your kids and teach them what the Bible says about how to live, set up guidelines for them to follow, determine what the consequences will be if they disobey, and follow through with those consequences when necessary. God's part is to work with your children's hearts and help them change their inward attitudes. The children's part is to choose what they are going to do. Parents get out of balance when they try to manage all three parts of this process themselves.
Instead of feeling the pressure of worldly expectations, do the best job you can to raise your children according to godly principles and leave the rest up to God.
How you treat people today is the way they will remember you tomorrow.
Humble people ask for help.
As we regularly spend time reading God's Word and talking to Him in prayer, we put ourselves in position for Him to do things in our lives we could never do on our own.
Our faith is released as we say, pray and do the Word.
As you read or listen to God's Word and spend time talking to Him in prayer, your spirit will eventually become stronger than your flesh.
Spending time with God through prayer and His Word is a prerequisite for having a great life and fulfilling your purpose.
Instead of blaming everyone and everything else for your problems, pray for God to help you take an inventory of what's been on your mind so you can think about what you've been thinking about.
Instead of judging people, we need to pray.
Prayer is simply talking to God like a friend and should be the easiest thing we do each day.
You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind.
Getting stress out of your life takes more than prayer alone. You must take action to make changes and stop doing whatever is causing the stress. You can learn to calm down in the way you handle things.
Patience is not simply the ability to wait - it's how we behave while we're waiting.
